Dr. Beverly Walker-Griffea

Walker-Griffea has been a long-time advocate for collegiate student success, serving community college students in various capacities for over twenty years. Dr. Beverly, as she prefers to be called, has a passion for ensuring all students have access to quality, affordable, and effective learning experiences. She chose to share her talents with community college institutions because of her deep connection to the community college mission and commitment to meet the academic, training, and lifelong learning needs of communities by educating all citizens that desire to learn. She believes community colleges must support the local community’s economic viability by preparing a skilled and successful workforce.

Letitia Clark

Letitia Clark is the District Director of Public Affairs, Marketing, and Government Relations for the Coast Community College District in Costa Mesa, CA. She also serves as the Executive Director of the Coast District Foundation. She is the Founder of Black Professionals in Orange County and of Lean IN OC, a group dedicated to empowering and inspiring women leaders.  She holds a non-profit management certificate from Harvard, a masters in public policy from New England College and a bachelors in political science and public administration from Xavier University. She is the recipient of four 40 under 40 awards.

Dr. Mary Spilde

Dr. Mary Spilde is president of Lane Community College in Eugene, Oregon. She is a nationally respected authority on community colleges, workforce development and sustainability. Dr. Spilde has 36 years of experience in higher education. She was named Lane’s sixth president in 2001. She has a bachelor’s degree in business and social systems and a law degree from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, and a master’s in adult education and a doctorate in post-secondary education from Oregon State University. Dr. Spilde is a frequent presenter, author and spokesperson and is often quoted in the national media including the Chronicle of Higher Education, Washington Post, New York Times, PBS Newshour, and other media.
