Oregon Institute for Leadership Development (OILD)

The Oregon Institute for Leadership Development is a unique opportunity for women from each community college in the state to gather and learn about developing and enhancing their leadership skills.

A selected group of women come together to gain insight on work styles, to consider community college issues, and to reflect on professional ethics, personal value systems, gender dynamics and leadership. Participants have an opportunity to hear from women who are in community college leadership roles, college presidents, deans, faculty, support staff, who come to share their stories of personal and professional growth. OILD is a time for learning, reflecting, and growing. It’s a time for meeting women from other community colleges and for expanding networks. It is also a time for fun. The institute is usually held in June at the beautiful Silver Creek Falls Conference Center.

The Eighteenth Annual OILD will be held at the Silver Falls Conference Center, June 21-25, 2009. This is a professional development opportunity for community college women interested in leadership as well as personal and professional growth.

Many women who have attended over the last several years have assumed leadership roles in their institutions. The investment in this development opportunity provides many benefits for the college as well as the individual. Similar to past years, we are asking that each college make its participant selection using local criteria.

Information on the program and selection process will be sent to the AAWCC Campus Contacts and college presidents in January 2009.
